The best of Changi's selection, now at all 3 of Changi's terminals.

Holidays are meant to be relaxing but some feel it’s a pain to have to make all the arrangements, from booking tickets to getting wi-fi routers before that much needed break from work.

From only one booth in Terminal 2 at Changi Airport, it now operates eight booths at all three of Changi's terminals. Changi Journeys speaks to Ng Yan Sheng, General Manager of Changi Travel Services, to find out how Changi Recommends has grown over the years, and what travellers really want.

FAST transformation @Changi

As passengers check-in at Terminal 1 (T1) in recent months, they would have noticed that one end of the terminal is sporting a new look, with new check-in counters and burgandy-coloured carpets.  They may also notice that there are new automated bag drop machines at the Cathay Pacific Airlines and AirAsia Group check-in rows located at the two ends of the terminals. With these new additions, the two airlines are leading a wave of Fast and Seamless Travel (FAST) transformation at Changi Airport.

Sneak peek into Changi’s first airside café for airport staff!

With its bright colour scheme and modern interior décor, the all new Delta Café resembles a trendy dining outlet frequented by youths more than it does a staff canteen. However, the sights and sounds of airplanes preparing for take-off in the distant background gives it away as Changi Airport’s very first staff canteen at the airside.

Previously, staff working in the airside may take up to 10 minutes to clear security and walk to the staff canteens in the terminals for lunch. With the introduction of Delta Café, they can now save precious travel time and enjoy a longer break.

Behind a nondescript frosted glass door in Terminal 2, a team of dedicated staff play a very important role to help Changi Airport run like clockwork. How’s this for a cool job - designing tunnels for a living

In the Changi East (CE) Development, tunnels play a critical role to provide the necessary linkages between Terminal 5 (T5) and its satellite terminals, as well as to the existing Terminals 1, 2 and 3 (also known as Changi West), without disrupting the current layout of the runways, taxiways and various airport facilities. Changi's Terminal 4 is fast taking shape

Having completed construction in December 2016, Terminal 4 (T4) is now in full swing to prepare for operations in the second half of 2017.

Being a brand new terminal, much work needs to be done before it can open its doors to passengers and visitors, such as the installation of airport systems, conducting process trials with staff and public volunteers, getting the airport and commercial partners operating at T4 to come on board for the big set-up, as well as familiarising airport staff with the new terminal.
