Upon your arrival in Singapore, please follow the "Arrivals" signs to the Arrival Immigration Halls on the ground floor for immigration clearance.

Look out for the dedicated immigration clearance lanes.


Foreign Visitors
Before proceeding to immigration clearance, please get ready the following:

  • Valid travel documents (e.g. passport)
  • Completed Disembarkation / Embarkation (D / E) cards
  • Permits / Entry Visa (if applicable)
  • Fever Vaccination Certificate, if visitors are arriving within six days of passing through areas endemic for Yellow Fever

Note to transfer passengers: If your airline does not provide baggage transfer service, you are required to clear arrival immigration and claim your baggage before checking-in for your next flight in Terminals 1, 2 or 3.


The enhanced Immigration Automated Clearance System (eIACS) offers you express self-clearance immigration via automated lanes. Using biometric technology, it retrieves data from your International Civil Aviation Organisation (ICAO) compliant, machine-readable passport.

Groups eligible to use eIACS (enrolment not required)
  1. Singapore Citizens, Singapore Permanent Residents & Long Term Pass holders above the age of 6 whose fingerprints have been registered with ICA

  2. Work pass holders (i.e. Work Permit, S-Pass, Employment Pass and Dependent Pass) whose fingerprints have been registered with MOM
Groups eligible to use eIACS (enrolment required)
  1. Singapore minor citizens 
    • who have yet to register for their NRIC and do not hold Biometric Passports
    • who have yet to register for their NRIC and did not register their fingerprints with ICA during application for the Singapore biometric passport

  2. Singapore Permanent Residents who have yet to register for their NRIC

  3. Singapore Immigration Long Term Pass holders who did not register their fingerprints with ICA during the issuance of the pass

  4. Malaysian Citizens who are assessed to be eligible under the frequent travellers scheme upon application

  5. Visitors holding a HKSAR passport:
    • with validity of more than 6 months
    • Aged 11 and above. The parent or legal guardian of applicants who are below the age of 18 are required to be present during application. The original copy of the applicant's birth certificate and the passport of the accompanying parent or legal guardian should also be provided for verification of identity. In the event that the applicant is accompanied by a legal guardian, the original copy of the legal authorisation letter or court order must also be furnished.
    • Visited Singapore at least three (3) times in last twelve (12) consecutive months


  • Current fingerprint scanning technology cannot accurately read the fingerprint from excessively wet or dry fingers.
    If the current registration system identifies your finger as being 'wet' or 'dry', your application cannot be processed.
  • Applicants falling under Groups (3) – (6) must be holding ICAO-compliant passports in order to apply
  • Applicants falling under Groups (1) – (5) must be 6 years old and above
  • All applications for eIACS enrolment are subject to ICA’s discretion in acceptance
To apply for eIACS

Eligible persons are to apply with the required documents listed below.
Enrolment is free of charge and no application form is required.


Documents required

  • Valid passport with validity of no less than 6 months   
  • One recent colour passport-sized photograph which meets the following requirements:
    • 35 mm wide by 45 mm high without border and taken within the last 3 months 
    • Taken full face without headgear, unless the applicant habitually wears a headgear in accordance with religious or racial customs. The headgear must not hide the applicant's facial features 
    • The facial image must be between 25 mm and 35 mm from chin to crown 
    • Taken against plain white background with a matt or semi-matt finish 
  • Work Permit, if applicable

Tax relief

A 7% Goods and Services Tax (GST) is levied on all goods imported into Singapore. If you are a visitor, tourist, returning citizen or permanent resident of Singapore, you will be granted Tax relief for all new purchases (excluding liquor and tobacco) under these conditions:

Period away from Singapore   GST relief   
Away for 48 hours or more    $600     
Away for less than 48 hours 

GST is levied on goods purchased exceeding the above values. Tax relief will not be offered to work-permit, employment, student, dependent or long-term pass holders.

Duty Free Concession

Enjoy Duty Free Concession if you:

  • Are at least 18 years old and above
  • Have arrived from countries other than Malaysia
  • Have been away from Singapore for at least 48 hours
