Changes to MRT operating hours on the East-West Line in January 2018

Due to SMRT maintenance works in January 2018, there will be changes to the operating hours of some MRT stations along the East-West Line (EWL) on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays.

Two paid shuttle bus services are available during the affected period.

Boarding Point:

Terminal 3 Level 2, Departure Hall Door 8 (Between Row 11 and Starbucks Reserve). 

Operating Hours:

  • Fridays: from 11.04pm to 12.16am.
  • Saturdays: from 5.31am to 8.19am and from 11.04pm to 12.16am.
  • Sunday (7 and 14 Jan): from 5.59am to 8.19am.
  • Sunday (21 and 28 Jan): from 5.59am to 12.16am.
     

Shuttle 8 (every 3-5 mins):

  • From Changi Airport to Expo and Tanah Merah stations. 
  • Travellers can connect to the Downtown Line (DTL) via Expo station. 
  • The estimated travelling time from Tanah Merah station to Changi Airport is about 25 - 30 mins. 
  • Shuttle 8's operating schedule is available here.  

Express 12 (every 15-18 mins):

  • From Changi Airport to Bugis station. 
  • Travellers can connect to the DTL or access other operating EWL stations via Bugis station. 
  • The estimated travelling time from Bugis station to Changi Airport is about 30 - 45 mins.

Passengers can take the following public buses at each terminal's bus station: 

Bus 24: From Changi Airport T1-4 to Tanah Merah, Bedok , Kembangan, Eunos and Paya Lebar stations.

Bus 27*: From Changi Airport T1-3 to Tampines and Hougang Central stations.

Bus 53*: From Changi Airport T1-3 to Pasir Ris station

Bus 36: From Changi Airport T1-4 to City Hall, Promenade, Dhoby Ghaut, Somerset and Orchard stations.

Bus 110: From Changi Airport T1-4 to Compassvale bus interchange and Seng Kang station. 

Bus 858*: From Changi Airport T1-3 to Khatib, Woodlands and Yishun stations.

*Buses are not available at the Terminal 4 bus station.

Taxis are available at the taxi stands at the Arrival Hall level of each Terminal. A ride to the city takes about 30-40 minutes and costs between $20 and $40. Fares are metered and there is an additional Airport surcharge for all trips originating from the Airport.

Transport booking can be made via the Ground Transport Concierge located in the Arrival Hall of each terminal. Transportation options include:

• City Shuttle (S$9 per adult / S$6 per child below 12 years of age to most downtown hotels)*

• 4-seater vehicle (S$55 per trip to any destination in Singapore)

• 7-seater vehicle (S$60 per trip to any destination in Singapore)

*The City Shuttle departs every 15 minutes during peak hours and up to 30 minutes during non-peak hours.

Paid shuttle services connecting various train stations to Changi Airport Terminal 3 are available during the affected period. 

Shuttle 8 (available at Tanah Merah and Expo stations): 

  • Passengers can take the Downtown Line (DTL) to Expo station and board Shuttle 8 towards Terminal 3. 
  • The estimated travelling time from Tanah Merah and Expo stations to Changi Airport is about 25 - 30 mins.

Express 12 (available at Bugis station):

  • Passengers can take the EWL or DTL to Bugis station and board Express 12 towards Terminal 3. 
  • The estimated travelling time from Bugis station to Changi Airport is about 30 - 45 mins.

Shuttle 7 (available at EWL stations between Pasir Ris and Aljunied):

  • Passengers can board Shuttle 7 from any station between Pasir Ris and Aljunied station, and alight at Tanah Merah station to take Shuttle 8 towards Terminal 3.
  • Shuttle 7's operating schedule is available here.
