Golden Myanmar Airlines
A city of contrasts, Mandalay, the second-largest city in Myanmar, is a bustling economic hub and a cultural centre. It is bounded by the Irrawaddy River to the west and flanked by the 230m-tall Mandalay Hill, dotted with stupas and monasteries, to the north. Among the city's numerous sights include the Maha Myat Muni temple with its 4m high, gold leaf-covered Buddha, and the spectacular Shwenandaw monastery built entirely from teak wood with elaborate carvings.
