School holiday fun starts at Changi Airport!
SINGAPORE, 3 September 2010 - This September school holiday, there are more reasons than ever to pay a visit to Changi Airport. Starting today, passengers and airport visitors will get to enjoy racing activities at the Changi GP Festival. At the same time, shoppers can double their savings with the launch of "Save 2X 7% GST on Shopping", a promotion offering savings equivalent to twice the GST amount at participating retail outlets. And getting to Changi Airport will now be even more convenient with the introduction of two new free shuttle bus services between Changi Airport and Ang Mo Kio and Sengkang MRT stations on weekends and public holidays.
Gear up for the Singapore Night Race with the Changi GP Festival!
Tighten your seatbelts as Changi Airport gears up for the Singapore Night Race with the Changi GP Festival. Until the end of the month, passengers can enjoy a good dose of racing action at the Departure Transit Malls of Terminals 1, 2 and 3, while airport visitors can check out exciting activities at T3's Departure Hall.
At T3's Departure Hall Check-In Row 11, Changi Rewards members and airport visitors1 can join in the fun and excitement of various activities. At the 'Beat The Clock Challenge', racers compete for the best timings with remote-controlled racing cars for six spots in the Grand Finals on 25 September. Then, the top racers will compete to win attractive prizes such as a limited-edition Oris watch and a Lenovo Netbook. In addition, there will be racing consoles and, for younger visitors, battery-operated cars to try out.
With a flash of their boarding passes, passengers at the Departure Transit Malls of T1, T2 and T3 can have a go at various activities such as racing consoles, remote-controlled racing cars and participate in the 'Beat The Clock Challenge'2. In 'Beat The Clock', challengers race their cars and compete to better a pre-determined time to win limited edition prizes.
The Changi GP Festival runs from 3 to 30 September 20103. The Singapore Night Race takes place from 24 to 26 September 2010 at the Marina Bay Street Circuit in the heart of downtown Singapore.
Enjoy even more savings with "Save 2X 7% GST on Shopping"
From today until 31 October 2010, shopping at Changi Airport means even more savings with the "Save 2X 7% GST on Shopping" promotion. Since May 2010, more than 40 retail outlets across Changi's terminals, representing about 90% of retail outlets in the public areas, have been absorbing the 7% Goods and Services Tax (GST) on purchases made at their stores. With "Save 2X 7% GST on Shopping", visitors who shop at these outlets enjoy an additional 7% savings on their purchases. Participating outlets include Watsons, Swatch, Samsonite, Eu Yan Sang and SK Jewellery. The full list of participating outlets is in the Annex.
Free shuttle bus services to Ang Mo Kio and Sengkang
From Saturday, 4 September 2010, new shuttle bus services will begin operating from Ang Mo Kio4 and Sengkang5 MRT stations to Changi Airport's Terminal 3, offering a convenient transport option. The free shuttle services will run at one-hour intervals on weekends and public holidays, from 11.30am to 9.30pm. Buses will depart from the two MRT stations for Changi Airport at half past the hour, and leave Changi T3 on the hour.
1 Airport visitors simply need to make any purchase at the airport and produce the receipt to take part in activities in the public area.

3 All Changi GP Festival activities begin on 3 September, with the exception of Terminal 1's Departure Transit Mall which commences on 7 September. The Festival will end on 30 September at all areas.
