Singapore’s Largest Single-Site Rooftop Solar Project

28 April 2025

Changi Airport Group (CAG) has partnered with Keppel Ltd. to develop a major solar photovoltaic (PV) system across the rooftops of Changi Airport’s terminal buildings. With a capacity of 38 Mega-Watt peak (MWp), this project is slated to be Singapore’s largest single-site rooftop solar system when completed in 2025.

The system will generate enough clean energy to power over 10,000 four-room HDB flats annually, equivalent to emissions reduction of nearly 20,000 tonnes per year. The project also had to take into account unique airport requirements, such as ensuring no interference with air traffic operations and complying with aviation safety and fire safety standards.

Apart from the above, CAG has also worked with SolarGy Pte Ltd to install a 640 kWp solar system at the airport maintenance and storage centre, cutting the facility’s emissions by 50%.

This initiative underscores CAG’s commitment to sustainability and decarbonisation, with plans to explore further renewable energy opportunities.
