CHANGES TO OVERSEAS PAYMENTS VIA
ALIPAY/ALIPAY+ QR – WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW (Updated 1 October 2026)

 

From 1 October 2026, 00:00 hours (SGT), Changi Pay no longer supports overseas payments via Alipay/Alipay+ QR. The use of the Liquid Account in Changi Pay is also no longer available.

For clarity, Changi Pay will continue to support payments within Changi Airport and Jewel Changi Airport via linked debit/credit cards and vouchers.

No, your funds are safe and remain fully available to you. From 1 October 2026, Changi Pay no longer supports overseas payments or the use of Liquid Account. Your existing Liquid Account remains active with Liquid Group and can continue to be accessed and managed through the LiquidPay app.

If an overseas merchant has confirmed that a refund has been initiated for a transaction made using your Changi Pay Liquid Account, the refunded amount will be credited back to your Liquid Account in accordance with the merchant's refund processing timeline.

Transactions history involving the use of funds from your Liquid Account will no longer be available on Changi Pay with effect from 1 October 2026. You may continue to access your Liquid Account transaction history through the LiquidPay app.

ABOUT CHANGI PAY

 

Changi Pay is a digital e-wallet within Changi App that enables users to make payments and enjoy a more convenient shopping experience at Changi Airport and Jewel Changi Airport (“Jewel”).

With effect from 1 October 2026, Changi Pay no longer supports overseas payments via Alipay/Alipay+ QR network.

The payment services relating to the use of Changi Pay are provided by Liquid Group (except in respect of CAG-issued e-voucher(s), where relevant). Please refer to the Changi Pay terms and conditions for full details.

Changi Pay is accepted at selected merchants at Changi Airport and Jewel via the Changi Pay QR.

You can pay conveniently using your linked credit/debit card and eligible e-Vouchers, where applicable. For the latest list of participating merchants, please visit our website.

In addition, Changi Pay offers added convenience and benefits:

  • Earn Changi Rewards points automatically when you make eligible payments using Changi Pay at participating outlets using Changi Pay. There is no need to scan your Changi Rewards e-card separately at the cashier.
  • Manage your e-Vouchers easily within Changi Pay. By keeping your vouchers in a single wallet, Changi Pay helps you track and use them conveniently whenever you shop.

Changi Pay is available as a feature in the Changi App. You are not required to download another app for Changi Pay. Changi App is available for download on the Apple App Store and Google Play Store.

For Android users, please ensure that both Google Play Services and Google Chrome are installed on your device. Additionally, Chrome must be set as your default browser for information to load properly in the Changi Pay app.

SIGNING UP FOR CHANGI PAY

 

Changi Pay is available as a feature in the Changi App. You are not required to download another app for Changi Pay. Please note that Changi Pay is currently only available to users with Singapore or Malaysia mobile phone numbers.

Regarding signing up for Changi Pay and using it in Singapore, kindly refer to the Changi Pay Guide.

Changi Pay is a feature available to Changi Account members, so having a Changi Account is required. To sign up, please visit the Changi Account registration page.

Changi Account is a digital service that allows you to connect and transact across Changi Airport’s digital portals using a single username and password. For more details, please refer to the Changi Account FAQ.

MY CHANGI PAY ACCOUNT

 

As part of guidelines on Shared Responsibility Framework implemented by the Monetary Authority of Singapore (MAS) and Infocomm Media Development Authority (IMDA) under E-Payments User Protection Guidelines, Liquid Group is required to impose a 12-hour cooling down period under the following scenarios:

  • User logins on a new device (different from last login)

  • User re-installs Changi App

  • User have Changi App installed on more than 1 device

  • User resets 6-digit PIN via “Forgot your PIN?” function

  • User logins to Changi Pay after long period of inactivity

The cooling period will be restarted each time a user login through a different device. To avoid this, please use Changi App on only one device and uninstall Changi App from other device(s).

Unfortunately, the cooling down period cannot be disabled. It is a crucial safeguard to enhance security of your account and protect it from scams and unauthorized access.

If you have already registered your fingerprint or face to log in to Changi Pay, the 6-digit PIN acts as a backup option in the unlikely event that fingerprint or face ID log in does not work.

Changi Pay and CAG do not store or have access to your fingerprint or facial recognition data. This information is securely stored on your device, as is common industry practice.

Go to Changi Pay and select the “More” tab from the bottom navigation bar. Select “Change PIN” and follow the steps.

Your Changi Pay account will be locked for 30 minutes after 5 incorrect login attempts.

After 30 minutes, proceed reset your PIN as follow: 

  1. Access Changi Pay and tap on "Forgot your PIN?" function at the Sign In page

  2. Confirm your mobile number by tapping "Continue".

  3. Input the 6-digit One Time Code (OTC) that is sent to the registered email for your Changi App account and tap "Continue".

  4. Proceed to set up your new 6-digit PIN

Please check your junk/spam or promotions folder for the One Time Code (OTC) email from changipay_noreply@liquidgroup.sg. Do note that the OTC is only valid for 15 minutes.

As part of guidelines on shared responsibility framework, Liquid Group is required to impose a 12-hour cooling-off period when users perform a PIN reset for their Changi Pay account, as mandated by the Monetary Authority of Singapore (MAS). During this cooling off period, you will not be able to use Changi Pay.

Yes, you can withdraw funds from your Liquid Account via the LiquidPay app.

To transfer your funds:

1. Download the LiquidPay app from the Apple App Store or Google Play Store.
2. Log in using your existing Liquid account credentials (note: email address is case-sensitive). If you are unable to recall your password, please use the "Forgot Password" function to reset it.
3. On the homepage, tap “Transfer”.
4. Under the Instant Transfers section, select “PayNow”.
5. Choose “Mobile Number”, then enter your PayNow-registered mobile number.
6. Review the details and complete the transfer.

CREDIT/DEBIT CARDS RELATED

 

1. Go to your Changi Pay and select the “Wallet” tab from the bottom navigation bar.
2. Switch to the “Cards” tab and select the “+” icon to add your preferred card.
3. Key in your card details and submit when done.

To ensure you are adding a valid credit card that belongs to you, there will be a one-time authorization charge of SGD1. This charge will be automatically refunded to you after the authorization. You may be redirected to your bank’s individual OTP page for authorization.
Do take note of the following:

  • Changi Pay currently only accepts MasterCard or Visa cards issued in Singapore.

  • Each card can only be linked to one Changi Pay account. If the card you wish to use has already been added to other Changi Pay account, please removed from the previous account before adding it to the new account.

  • Your card needs to have "Online Transactions" function enabled to be able to add it to your Changi Pay account.

  • Any card added Changi Pay can only be used for local payment via Changi Pay QR at participating outlets in Changi Airport and Jewel.

The SGD1 charge allows us to verify that you have added a valid credit card that belongs to you. The SGD1 will be automatically refunded to you once the verification is completed.

Yes. Your credit card details are stored in a dedicated, separate and secured vault managed by Liquid Group. Liquid Group complies to the Payment Card Industry Data Security Standard (PCI DSS) the industry standard for handling of credit card details. CAG does not store your credit card details separately.

You can add up to a maximum of 20 credit/debit cards.

Only MasterCard or Visa cards issued in Singapore can be added to Changi Pay.

Each card can only be linked to one Changi Pay account at a time. If the card you wish to use is already linked to another account, please remove it from the previous account before adding it to your current one.

If you continue to experience issues, kindly contact your card-issuing bank for assistance.

We are reviewing the addition of American Express cards. In the meantime, you can add a MasterCard or Visa cards to Changi Pay.

Yes, you can still earn your credit/debit card cashback and/or points, subject to terms and conditions of your credit/debit card issuing bank.

  1. Go to Changi Pay and select the “Wallet” tab from the bottom navigation bar.

  2. Select the “Cards” tab, followed by the credit card you want to delete.

  3. The option to delete the card will appear at the bottom of the selected card. Select “Delete”.

  4. Select “Yes” to confirm that you want to delete the selected card.

Transaction details are available on Changi Pay for up to 60 days.

1. Go to Changi Pay and select the “More” tab from the bottom navigation bar.
2. Select the “Transaction History” from the list.
3. A list of your transaction history will be shown. Select a transaction to view more details.

For records beyond 60 days, you may submit a Transaction History request to Liquid Group through Changi Pay via “More” → “Transaction History” → “Request History”.

Transactions history involving the use of funds from Liquid Account will no longer be available on Changi Pay with effect from 1 October 2026. You may continue to access your transaction history through the LiquidPay app instead.

The transaction will be shown as "LG_PF" or similar under your card statement description.

VOUCHERS & DEALS

 

1. Go to your Changi Pay and select the “Deals” tab from the bottom navigation bar.

2. View available vouchers and tap into the voucher you are interested in.

3. Select “Save Voucher” to it to your wallet.

Kindly note that vouchers have limited quantity, and once it has run out, you will not be able to see it under "Deals".

Changi Pay e-Vouchers can be accepted at participating outlets in Changi Airport and Jewel.

When paying at a physical store, please inform the cashier that you would like to make payment using Changi Pay. Follow these simple steps to make your payment:

  1. Log in to Changi Pay

  2. Tap the Pay icon at the bottom of the screen

  3. Scan the Changi QR code provided by the cashier

  4. Tap Continue/Next until you reach the Payment Method page

  5. Select your preferred payment card

  6. Select the vouchers you wish to use to offset your payment (you may be able to use multiple vouchers in a single transaction, subject to each voucher’s terms and conditions)

Important Note:

If you select the vouchers before choosing your payment method, the vouchers you have selected will be "unselected" when you change your payment method.

Subject to the relevant voucher(s)’ terms and conditions, you may use multiple vouchers to make payment.

Please check if you have saved the voucher to your wallet. Only saved vouchers will appear during payment.

In addition, some vouchers come with terms and conditions which does not allow it to be used with other vouchers. If you would like to use the other voucher, you may need to unselect other active vouchers. There are also vouchers which are only applicable at selected merchants or outlets, the voucher may not be valid for use at the outlet you are currently paying at.

To view Vouchers Terms & Conditions:

1. Go to your Changi Pay and select the “Wallet” .
2. Switch to “Vouchers” .
3. Tap into the voucher you would like to check and select “View Terms & Conditions”.

An expired voucher cannot be used, and its expiry date will not be extended. It will also be removed from list of vouchers in your Changi Pay account.

Yes, you can. Any available Changi Rewards e-Voucher(s) will be available for selection as you make payment with Changi Pay, subject to merchants acceptance of Changi Rewards e-Vouchers. Changi Rewards terms and conditions apply.

You cannot use your Changi Rewards points to directly offset your purchase. You would have to first redeem your Changi Rewards points for Changi Rewards e-Vouchers.

PAYING WITH CHANGI PAY

 

1.     Open Changi Pay and select the “Pay” tab from the bottom navigation bar.

2.     Scan the QR code displayed on the merchant’s Point-of-Sale (POS) screen or handheld payment terminal.

3.     If prompted, enter the payment amount and verify the total payable amount before selecting “Continue”.

4.     Select your preferred payment card.

5.     Choose the applicable voucher(s) you wish to use, then tap “Pay”.

6.     Once the payment is successful, you will be redirected to a payment confirmation screen.

Important Note:

Please select your payment card before selecting any vouchers. If you change your payment card after selecting vouchers, the selected vouchers will be automatically removed and will need to be selected again.

Yes, during payment your mobile device must have a stable internet connection to pay using Changi Pay.

No. You do not need to top up money to pay for your purchases. You only need to add a credit/debit card into your Changi Pay account to pay for purchases.

Immediately inform the outlet staff where you made your purchase and request for a refund. This is the most effective way of resolving the issue.

No, you can only use one credit card per transaction.

No, there is no transaction limit implemented by Changi Pay. However, your banks may apply a limit on your credit card spend.

Please check that your mobile phone's internet connection is stable. We would recommend switching to an alternative network source, such as toggling between mobile data, Wi‑Fi, or a personal hotspot, before retrying the transaction, as network stability may affect payment processing.

If your payment is rejected, please check with your card issuing bank for linked credit/debit card transactions.

To keep your account safe, always protect your login credentials, card details, and OTPs, lock your cards when not in use, and be vigilant about suspicious transactions or emails, and report any suspected fraud immediately. We also encourage you to keep your mobile phone safe by locking your mobile phone when not in use.
