As you have registered your fingerprints with Singapore’s immigration authority on arrival, you can enjoy a one-time use of the Automated Immigration Gates (AIGs) and Automated Boarding Gates (ABGs) when departing Singapore.
The AIGs in Terminal 4 use biometric technology to retrieve data from your passport and boarding pass to authenticate your identity at immigration. It is an enhanced version of the AIGs in Terminals 1 to 3.
Benefit of the AIGs
A secure and faster option for immigration clearance.
How to use AIGs
Insert your passport into the scanner
Remove your passport when prompted
Scan your boarding pass on the scanner
Enter the lane
Place your thumb on the scanner
Exit the lane
Please note that when you depart using AIGs:
Immigration endorsement will not be given; and
Embarkation card will not be collected.
Automated Boarding Gates (ABGs)
The ABGs in Terminal 4 is a self-clearance option for boarding passengers. Passengers who have used AIGs on the same day may also use ABGs.
Benefit of ABGs A secure and faster option for immigration clearance.
How to use ABGs

Location of ABGs All gates at Terminal 4 ('G' gates) are fitted with ABGs. Simply proceed to the assigned gate for your flight during boarding.
AIG processes one (1) passenger at a time. Children below 6 years of age are to proceed to the immigration counters. Children who are aged 6 and above are eligible to use the AIGs if they have registered their fingerprint with Immigration and Checkpoints Authority (ICA) of Singapore. There will be security staff to assist children who require help at the AIG.
Visitors of Singapore will be required to register their fingerprints at the immigration counter whenever they visit Singapore. After their fingerprints are registered, they will be able to use the AIGs when departing Singapore.
