As you have registered your fingerprints with Singapore’s immigration authority on arrival, you can enjoy a one-time use of the Automated Immigration Gates (AIGs) and Automated Boarding Gates (ABGs) when departing Singapore.

Automated Immigration Gates (AIGs)


The AIGs in Terminal 4 use biometric technology to retrieve data from your passport and boarding pass to authenticate your identity at immigration. It is an enhanced version of the AIGs in Terminals 1 to 3.

How to use AIGs

  1. Insert your passport into the scanner
  2. Remove your passport when prompted
  3. Scan your boarding pass on the scanner
  4. Enter the lane
  5. Place your thumb on the scanner
  6. Exit the lane

Please note that when you depart using AIGs:

  • Immigration endorsement will not be given; and
  • Embarkation card will not be collected.

Automated Boarding Gates (ABGs)


The ABGs in Terminal 4 is a self-clearance option for boarding passengers. Passengers who have used AIGs on the same day may also use ABGs.

How to use ABGs

  1. Place your boarding pass on the scanner
  2. Take a photo
  3. Exit the lane

Location of ABGs
All gates at Terminal 4 ('G' gates) are fitted with ABGs. Simply proceed to the assigned gate for your flight during boarding.

a.     Travellers whose fingerprints have been registered on arrival with Immigration and Checkpoints Authority (ICA) of Singapore.

b.     Singapore Citizens, Singapore Permanent Residents and Long-Term Pass holders above age 6 whose fingerprints have been registered with ICA.

c.     Work Pass holder (i.e., Work Permit, S-Pass, Employment Pass and Dependent Pass) whose fingerprints have been registered with the Ministry of Manpower.

 

Immigration endorsements are not required as your departure will be electronically processed as you go through AIG.

 

Your embarkation card will not need to be collected.

 

Yes, you are eligible to use the AIGs which are available across Terminals 1 to 4.

 

AIG processes one (1) passenger at a time. Children below 6 years of age are to proceed to the immigration counters. Children who are aged 6 and above are eligible to use the AIGs if they have registered their fingerprint with Immigration and Checkpoints Authority (ICA) of Singapore. There will be security staff to assist children who require help at the AIG.

 

You are advised to proceed to the immigration counters where security staff will direct you to the priority lane.

 

Visitors of Singapore will be required to register their fingerprints at the immigration counter whenever they visit Singapore. After their fingerprints are registered, they will be able to use the AIGs when departing Singapore.
