Made with over 1,100 natural sandstone blocks, this sculpted wall symbolises nature’s beauty and complexity, and incorporates words of welcome for arriving passengers in 16 languages.
The blocks of sandstone were individually hand-carved in artist Richard North-Lewis’s studio in Bali, Indonesia, and assembled in Singapore – a process that took over five years.
This artwork is a beautiful, modern twist on bas-relief, while still playing homage to this classical artform.
