    a) Terminal 2 booth: 7:00 AM–6:15 PM
    b) Terminal 3 booth: 7:00 AM–6:30 PM

Our tours are conducted in English. We also have Chinese audio guides available. If you require an audio guide, please inform our friendly staff on duty when you sign up for the tour.

  4. I am a self-connecting passenger (i.e., I need to clear immigration to collect my baggage and connecting flight’s boarding pass). Am I eligible for the Free Singapore Tour?

It is possible for self-connecting passengers to join the Free Singapore Tour, but the registration process is slightly different. Please follow the steps below to register:

    1. Registration procedure:

    a. Please stay in the transit area and do not clear immigration when you reach Changi Airport. Instead, head over to the nearest Free Singapore Tour booth located at either Terminal 2 (transit area, Transfer F) or Terminal 3 (transit area, Transfer A) to register for the tour first. Our Free Singapore Tour booths are only located within the transit area, so you have to register for the tour before you leave transit.

    b. As you have to clear immigration afterwards to collect your next flight’s boarding pass, please let the Free Singapore Tour booth staff know of your circumstance so that they can provide you with information on the next steps.
    c. Availability of seats is strictly on a first-come, first-served basis.

    d. Passport, boarding passes and valid entry visa (if applicable) are required for registration. As you may not have your onward boarding pass yet, please provide the electronic itinerary or confirmed booking for verification.

    2. Luggage:

    a. As the Free Singapore Tour bus does not allow luggage on board, please leave your luggage at any of the Left Baggage counters (available at both Terminals 2 and 3) before joining the tour.

    b.  It is advisable to leave your luggage at Terminal 3 since this is where the Free Singapore Tour starts and ends.

    3. Entering and exiting Singapore:

    a. Transiting passengers are allowed to enter and exit Singapore only once during their layover period, as per guidelines stipulated by Immigration and Checkpoints Authority of Singapore (ICA). Re-entering the transit area after you clear customs is considered as entering and exiting Singapore once, so please make sure you do not go back to the transit area until you complete the Free Singapore Tour.

  5. I want to join the Free Singapore Tour but I do not have an entry visa into Singapore. Can I still join the Free Singapore Tour?

Depending on the issuing country of the passport you are holding, passengers of eligible nationalities enjoy visa-free entry into Singapore. Please click here to find out if you require a visa to enter Singapore. If you require a visa to enter Singapore, it is advisable to get one for seamless participation in the Free Singapore Tour.

    Visa Free Transit Facility (VFTF)
Passengers of eligible nationalities may also qualify for VFTF if prevailing entry requirements are met. Assessment for entry is determined by the Immigration and Checkpoints Authority (ICA) officers at the point of entry. For more information, please click here.

Please note that extension of stay for transiting travellers under the VFTF is strictly not allowed.

  6. Can I pre-book the Free Singapore Tour?

The Free Singapore Tour team only accepts walk-in registrations. However, Singapore Airlines and SilkAir passengers* may pre-book the Free Singapore Tour. If you are eligible based on the tour timings and are travelling on these two airlines, you may contact your local SQ reservations office to pre-book the Free Singapore Tour as pre-booking is managed separately by Singapore Airlines. To check where the nearest SQ reservations office is, please visit http://www.singaporeair.com/en_UK/contact-us/. Singapore Airlines accepts reservations for the Free Singapore Tour up to 72 hours in advance.

If you are not travelling on the above two airlines, you will have to register at the nearest booth once you reach Changi Airport. Do make your way to the nearest booth (do not clear immigration at all) before the registration deadline. Our booths are only located within the transit area and availability of seats will be on a first-come, first-served basis.

*Exceptions apply. Please check with the airline office(s) on local regulations and restrictions.

  7. I am only arriving after the registration cut-off time. Can I still join the Free Singapore Tour?

Unfortunately, no. For all tours, passengers must report to the meeting point (Free Singapore Tour booth) one hour before the start of the tour. After a short briefing, you will clear immigration as a group. If you arrive after the registration cut-off time, you will not be able to catch up.

  8. I am arriving in Singapore but not transiting. Can I join the Free Singapore Tour?

The 2.5-hour Free Singapore Tour is a guided bus tour catered only to transiting passengers of Changi Airport who have a layover period of at least 5.5 hours but are staying in Singapore for less than 24 hours. If you are visiting Singapore, and have already cleared immigration, you are not eligible for the Free Singapore Tour.

  9. I am 15 years old and travelling by myself. Can I join the Free Singapore Tour?

Passengers below 18 years old are not allowed to join the tour alone unless accompanied by an adult. This is because all passengers have to sign an indemnity form prior to the tour and the form requires signatories to be 18 years old and above.

  10. I require a wheelchair to get around. Can I join the Free Singapore Tour?

The Free Singapore Tour bus is a wheelchair-accessible vehicle with a roll-up ramp. Due to space constraints, each tour can only allow one wheelchair passenger on board. The said passenger needs to fulfil the following requirements:

    a) He or she is accompanied by a travel companion.
    b) He or she has their own wheelchair for the tour, as the airport or airline's equipment cannot be brought out of the airport premises.

  11. I have a long layover period. Can I join both Heritage Tour and City Sights Tour?

You may join only one tour (i.e., either Heritage Tour or City Sights Tour) because transiting passengers can only enter and exit Singapore once, as per guidelines by Immigration and Checkpoints Authority of Singapore (ICA). Joining both tours would mean that you would clear immigration twice during your layover, which is not allowed.

We suggest you look through both tour itineraries to choose one that you prefer.

  12. I have a long layover period. Can I join the Free Singapore Tour and remain in the city to explore on my own before going back to the airport for my connecting flight?

Passengers on the Free Singapore Tour have to stick together as a group and it is not possible for passengers to stay behind in the city or break away from the group. The Free Singapore Tour bus brings everyone back to Changi Airport Terminal 3 at the end of each tour. The tour guide will then bring the group to the area right outside the Departure Gates, and assist relevant passengers with returning to the transit area.

For those with more than 2 hours till their connecting flight, you can choose to remain on board the tour bus which will make a stop at Jewel Changi Airport after Terminal 3. While enjoying Jewel leisurely, passengers are responsible for their subsequent flight check-in and security procedures in the respective terminals.

  13. I have a long layover period, and I have booked accommodation in a downtown Singapore hotel. Can I join the Free Singapore Tour?

No, passengers with a downtown Singapore hotel booking are not allowed to join the tour.

    a) If check-in is before the tour: Transiting passengers would need to clear immigration, which can only be processed once, as per guidelines by Immigration and Checkpoints Authority of Singapore (ICA). As Free Singapore Tour is a transit offering, our staff and meeting point are located in the transit area. Those who have used up their one-time arrival immigration by going to the hotel, are unable to meet the rest of the tour group in the transit area and clear through immigration again with everyone.

    b) If check-in is after the tour: Given passenger’s preference to stay in a downtown location, he or she can explore Singapore at leisure, and not deny others with lesser time a seat on the tour.

For convenience, passengers with a long layover may like to consider booking accommodation in Changi Airport’s transit hotels. For more information: http://www.changiairport.com/en/airport-guide/facilities-and-services/transit-hotels.html

  14. I have a question not found on this list of FAQs. How can I reach out to the Free Singapore Tour team?

If you have further enquiries, please email cag.fst@changiairport.com. We will get back to you within 7 working days.
